At Mitek Computers we have flat rate charges that apply to our most popular services. Please be aware that all operating system reloads REQUIRE that YOU LEGALLY OWN the operating system to be installed. This means that you MUST have the COA (Certificate of Authenticity) for that particular system.

Please Note: The COA sticker for the system must be available to us, and should match the LOOK of the COA stickers listed IN THE PHOTOS LOCATED HERE. Microsoft has several different COA stickers, but yours should look somewhat similar to any of those listed in the photo. If the sticker is NOT located on the tower, then check any Windows CD you may have. Sometimes, they will be located on the Microsoft CD packaging.

If you have NO COA or are using a borrowed or pirated copy of any OS we cannot legally reinstall or reload your system. You would be required to purchase a legal OEM COA that would be good for at minimum the one system we are planning to reload. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this at all. Please DO NOT ask us to install an OS on your system where you do not legally own the software. There is nothing more uncomfortable for Mitek Computers and its employees than having to refuse to service a system simply because it does not have a legal COA, cd key, OS serial number or installation key. It may seem unreasonable to you, but the fact remains that we are a partner of many of these software companies such as Microsoft. We will not risk losing our Microsoft licensing and our livelihood by installing an illegal copy of anything. There may be other technicians out there willing to take the risk. We are NOT such a business.

If you need a system reloaded and you do NOT have a COA sticker or key, we can ONLY install the system once you have procured the software for that system, and that system only. We do carry and sell all popular OS systems. Be forewarned you cannot "borrow" the numbers or keys from another system, even if its one you own. The only time you can use the same COA or key on more than one system, is if you have paid for VOLUME or ENTERPRISE licensing. This licensing normally ONLY applies to businesses with more than 3 computers.

Flat rate fees are listed below. If your request for service is not in this list, then all service is quoted on a case by case basis. Please note we do NOT work on any system that is loaded with Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows ME. Your system must have at minimum Windows 2000 or NEWER installed.

In this day and age, many software companies offer LUCRATIVE rewards to technicians to turn in persons using pirated software. At Mitek we would never "snitch" on a customer, but please be aware that many repair centers have no qualms whatsoever in turning you in to collect these rewards. In some instances these rewards can be close to 1 million dollars depending upon the severity of the piracy.

Be wary of any so called technician offering to install a pirated, copied, or CHEAP OS. If the SPA or any of the other software piracy or watch groups "catch" you running an illegal or pirated operating system they will report you to the software company. Fines start in the 10,000.00 range. These companies take software piracy very seriously. Be wary of any service center that states they can install a VOLUME or ENTERPRISE license on your computer at no charge. No matter what anyone tells you, you are simply allowed 1 COA per PC loaded. You CANNOT split COA's across several computers by using the same key over and over. Each computer for personal use MUST have its own license and COA sticker.

In some instances IF you have the original OEM software set, this will suffice as it will place the COA on the system during the install process.
